Listing of Development and Training Completed by Board Members

All Illinois school board members must receive training regarding the Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120/1.05), professional development leadership training (105 ILCS 5/10-16a) and the Performance Evaluation Reform Act – PERA (105 ILCS 5/24-16.5). This training includes overviews of education and labor law, financial oversight and accountability, freedom of information and open meetings requirements and fiduciary responsibilities. All seven board members have completed this training.

The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) is a voluntary organization of local boards of education dedicated to strengthening the Illinois public schools through local citizen control. Although not part of State government, IASB is organized by member school boards as a private not-for-profit corporation under authority granted by Article 23 of the School Code. Board Meeting and Board Committee Meeting Dates

The District 80 Board of Education holds its regularly scheduled meetings on the third Tuesday of each month with the exception of the December meeting which is held on the second Tuesday of the month.

Regular meetings of the board will commence at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise modified in subsequent official Board minutes. Visitors are welcome.
